MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Steel products producer AK Steel Holding Corp. said Friday it reached a tentative agreement for a new labor contract with the United Auto Workers, a union representing about 190 employees at a Rockport, Indiana plant. The agreement is expected to be voted on by local union members within a week, the company said.
The current contract will expire Sept. 30. The new contract, if ratified, will run from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2013.
Shares rose 85 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $37.82 in midday trading.
